In 1971 a group of physicians bought 60 acres off a two-lane, farm-to-market throughway called "Jackrabbit Road" in northwest Harris County. Back then it was nothing more than a cow pasture.

Those founding physicians were convinced the area held great potential for growth, and there were no medical facilities nearby. They were right.

Houston Northwest Medical Center (HNMC) opened in 1973. A medical staff of approximately 600 members offers a wide range of inpatient, outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.

The Ed Roberson Heart Center is supported by over 40 cardiologists and provides comprehensive cardiac services. Among them are diagnostic imaging, nuclear stress testing, digital catheterization labs, open-heart surgery and cardiac rehabilitation.
