Strategically positioned to serve communities in both north Harris and south Montgomery Counties, Houston Northwest Medical Center’s Heart Center is a cardiac care facility with dedicated cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons, and a host of technological capabilities. We pride ourselves on providing a variety of advanced cardiovascular services, both diagnostic and therapeutic, in a caring setting.
Our Emergency Department provides assessment and care for heart attack victims 24 hours a day. Our central location helps patients who think they might be having a heart attack get help quickly, and that’s important, since coronary heart disease is the single leading cause of death in America today.
The Diagnostic Cardiology Laboratory and our Cardiac Rehabilitation Program provide the necessary support for cardiovascular therapy and post heart attack recovery. Our surgical suites have the capability of performing Cardiac Bypass Grafts and valve surgeries. Houston Northwest Medical Center also offers a modern Electro-physiology Lab (EP Lab).
All invasive and non-invasive cardiac services at Houston Northwest Medical Center have relocated to the fourth floor of the South Tower which has been named after one of our hospital founders, Dr. Ed Roberson (Dr. Ed). The Ed Roberson Heart Center offers a variety of cardiac services ranging from Diagnostic Heart Caths to complicated balloon angioplastys and stents. The Center also provides specialized care for patients who have had angioplasty or stents in a observation unit.
The Ed Roberson Heart Center offers not only advanced technology but also a hands-on approach to delivering care. Physicians on the medical staff meet with their patients continuously to discuss their progress. From their stay in intensive care, through monitoring in telemetry, to education and exercise in cardiac rehabilitation, patients receive personalized attention designed for their special needs.
In addition, we have made it a particular mission to familiarize the people of our community with the early warning signs of a heart attack. We also offer educational programs addressing women and heart disease, and prevention of heart disease. In the Ed Roberson Heart Center, we do more than take care of our community; we help our community take better care of itself.
