A toy drive held recently to benefit Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) was a big success thanks to the generosity of the public as well as employees and medical staff at Houston Northwest Medical Center. The treasure trove of several hundred donated toys was distributed to area children who would otherwise not be receiving gifts this holiday season.
“The giving spirit of everyone involved in this toy drive helped make the holidays special for children in our community,” said Linda Mercier, RN, MSN, chief executive officer at Houston Northwest Medical Center. “We are grateful for the opportunity to spread the holiday cheer by supporting such a worthy cause and to make a donation to NAM that will help make many happy memories for local children.”
NAM is a nonprofit, community-based, multi-program social service agency that strives to supply basic human needs through neighbors helping neighbors. The hospital has made numerous donations to benefit NAM through food and toy drives, as well as the annual Jeans and Jewels Gala fundraiser.
