Houston Northwest Medical Center has appointed long-time hospital employee Juan Fresquez as its new chief operating officer. As COO, Fresquez will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the hospital and related services ensuring that the staff delivers high-quality and cost-effective care.
“Juan has been an integral member of the leadership team, and he actively contributes to the operational success and strategy of the hospital,” said Linda Mercier, RN, MSN, chief executive officer at Houston Northwest Medical Center. “I am proud of all his achievements over the past 22 years and look forward to working with him to further expand the hospital’s presence and leadership role in our community.”
Fresquez most recently served as associate administrator at Houston Northwest Medical Center, where he was instrumental in redesigning organizational throughput to help rebuild the hospital’s foundation for outpatient volume growth. Throughout his tenure, Fresquez has held numerous leadership positions and has overseen several construction projects which included diagnostic imaging centers and the addition of a Subway™ franchise within the hospital. Additionally, he played a crucial part in the development of Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Epilepsy and PET/CT product lines.
Fresquez received his bachelors of science degree in nuclear medicine from the University of Incarnate Word and his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix. He currently serves as a board member for Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce as well as Renaissance 1960, an organization committed to revitalizing the hospital’s primary service area.
