Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer. More than one million new cases are diagnosed each year. While most skin cancers are curable if detected and treated early, melanoma kills approximately 2,000 Americans every year.
To increase public awareness of the signs of skin cancer and to encourage behaviors to protect the skin from damage, Houston Northwest Medical Center is teaming up with the Houston Dermatological Society to hold a free skin cancer preventative screening on Saturday, May 15, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. To make an appointment for the free screening, call 281-580-0000.
