Nurses Dedicate Their Lives to Patient Care at Houston Northwest Medical Center
Click here and read more about three nurses at Houston Northwest Medical Center who are members of an elite group. It has taken them years to achieve membership, yet they pay no dues, there is no secret handshake and there are no required meetings. Grace Heffron, Elaine Eilers and Debbie Kasper are among a select group of nurses who have worked at the hospital for more than 30 years. With more than 90 years of experience among them, these registered nurses continue to share a passion for providing quality patient care that remains as strong today as the day they began their careers in nursing.

Nurse Residency Program
Houston Northwest Medical Center has a comprehensive Nurse Residency Program. The program prepares the new nurse or returning nurse to care for patients in various settings. The program utilizes classroom, hands on clinical experience  with an experienced preceptor to socialize the new nurse into competent nursing practice.  The Nurse Residency Program is three months in length.   The program prepares nurses for practice in medical and surgical areas, obstetrics, peri-operative nursing and critical care units.
